Breaker Bay
This kitchen is in a 1950’s cottage on Wellington’s south coast. The cottage has been recently altered in a complementary modern style. The large open plan living- dining- kitchen space looks out onto the rough and weathered seafront. The clients requested a simple, natural and robust kitchen. The gallery kitchen is separated from the dining space by a custom designed console. The console and drawers use sustainably grown macrocarpa wood. It is finished in an environmentally friendly hardening wax. Stainless steel benches suit the era of the house and patina well.
Pantry storage is accommodated in an existing cupboard.
